You Can Grow, Tundra or Not!

Considering that I cannot sleep, in light of a terrible cough accompanied by many a flu-like symptom, I will update here.  Though not about knitting.  My housemate, Julie, and I put our baby seedlings into the ground on Monday.  Julie is a clever gal who suggested we nail posts into the ground, about 6 feet apart, and weave twine back and forth across them.  This acts much like a tomato cage but cost us only $2.29 in twine (we used wood from our shed, you could use almost anything) and it worked like a charm.

Space rows about 1 1/2 feet apart.  The plants will wind around the twine and the fruit will grow from the vines.  This keeps the fruit from growing in the dirt and forming "ugly spots."  Leave 1-2 feet between your plants. If you are growing beans, you only need the top row of twine.  The vine will grow along the twine with some minor training and the beans will dangle from it.

Project Mania!

Starting a new blog, maybe this is part of my secret desire to find a get-rich quick scheme. Maybe this is because knitting and my womanhood cross my mind millions of times each day.
